We focused on the “weak spots”—those junction points where the wiring enters the housing. By using reinforced cable glands and high-temp silicone gaskets, we stopped “wicking.” That’s the annoying phenomenon where water basically hitches a ride along the cable jacket and crawls straight into your electrical connections. The fight against fog Then there’s the humidity. If you’ve worked in a shop with rapid temperature swings, you know the drill. Fog settles on the quartz tube or the reflector, creating hotspots or just blocking the heat entirely. To fix this, we added a hydrophobic coating to the outside and tweaked the airflow.
